Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Entebbe Airport – Entebbe
Arrive at Entebbe Airport. Your guide will be there waiting for you. Pick up and proceed to your accommodation. Papyrus Guest House (BB) or Lake Victoria View Guest House (BB) Lake Victoria Hotel (BB) or Protea Hotel (BB) Day 2: Entebbe - Murchison Falls National Park Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. In Murchison Falls we visit the top of the falls if time allows. On our way we visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. This is the only place in Uganda where you can see the white Rhino. Murchison Falls is one of the most beautiful national parks of Uganda. One of the main attractions is the Nile, with the spectacular Murchison Falls, where the whole Nile is forced through a narrow gorge and falls 60 meters. Expect to see elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and maybe leopards.
Included: Ziwa Sanctuary, visit top of the falls Pakuba Safari Lodge (HB) Kabalega Wilderness Lodge (FB) Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park Early morning game drive in this beautiful national park. Afternoon boat rides on the Victoria Nile up to the bottom of the falls. The boat is the perfect platform to see and photograph many different bird species.
Included: game drive, boat trip Murchison Falls National Park Pakuba Safari Lodge (HB) Kabalega Wilderness Lodge (FB) Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park- Hoima Early morning game drive ormake an optional boat trip on the Nile to the delta into Lake Albert or visit Budongo Forest for a jungle walk. In the afternoon we drive to Hoima town.
Included: game drive Murchison Falls National Park- Hoima Hoima Cultural Lodge (BB) Hoima Cultural Lodge (FB) Day 5: Hoima - Kibale Forest After breakfast we drive to Kibale Forest. You can make a walk around the community in the afternoon (optional). Kibale Forest is a spectacular jungle, with 13 primate species! Including chimps, baboons, black and white colobus, red colobus, grey cheeked mangabey and L’Hoest monkey. Hoima - Kibale Forest Turaco Treetops (BB) Primate Lodge (FB) Day 6: Kibale Forest Chimpanzee tracking in the morning or in the afternoon. It is also possible to upgrade this 1-hour tracking to a Chimpanzee Habituation Experience, a 4 hours tracking. For people interested in primates and birds and willing to make another walk, we can make a community walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary as well. It is also possible to visit the local people or the crater lakes. Included: chimp tracking, Bigodi Swamp Walk Kibale Forest Turaco Treetops (BB) Primate Lodge (FB) Day 7: Kibale Forest - Queen Elizabeth National Park Transfer to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. On our way we pass the equator where we will make a stop. Game drive in the afternoon. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the best places in Uganda to see lions. Expect to see elephants, lions, many hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and maybe leopards. Game drive in the morning. Boat trip on the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon. The Kazinga Channel is one of the highlights of Uganda and has the highest concentration of hippos in the world. Included: game drive, boat trip Queen Elizabeth National Park Kasenyi Safari Camp (BB) Mweya Safari Lodge (FB) Day 9: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Ishasha After breakfast we drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park to the Ishasha sector in the South. Game drive in the afternoon in search of the tree climbing lions. In Ishasha there are 4 prides of lions that climb the trees daily. Unique in the world! The other attraction of Ishasha is the Topic, not found anywhere else in this National Park. Included: game drives Queen Elizabeth National Park – Ishasha Ishasha Jungle Lodge (BB) Ishasha Wilderness Tented Camp (FB) Day 10: Ishasha - Bwindi Impenetrable Early morning game drive in Ishasha to see the tree climbing lions. Afterwards we drive to Bwindi Impenetrable. On our way we pass through interesting villages and have some breath taking views of the mountains. Bwindi Impenetrable is a unique jungle, with many monkey species. Bwindi is one of the 2 places in the world where you can find Mountain Gorillas! (The lodge in Bwindi we use and driving time to Bwindi depends on the group of gorillas you will track.) Included: game drive Ishasha - Bwindi Impenetrable Depends on the group of gorillas you will be tracking (BB) Depends on the group of gorillas you will be tracking (FB) Day 11: Bwindi Impenetrable Gorilla tracking!!! Early morning departure with your ranger to search for one of the world's most interesting and endangered animal, the Mountain Gorilla! You will spend one hour with one of our closest relatives. An experience you will never forget. Bwindi Impenetrable Depends on the group of gorillas you will be tracking (BB) Depends on the group of gorillas you will be tracking (FB) Day 12: Bwindi Impenetrable - Lake Mutanda Drive to Lake Mutanda, one of the most beautiful places in Uganda. On a clear day you can see the 3 volcanoes in the distance. Relax at the lodge or do one of the following activities (one activity included): boat trip on the lake, walk along the lake or to the local people, go for a swim, or visit the pygmies. (Driving time to Lake Mutanda depends on the area in Bwindi we stay.)
Included: 1 activity to choose from boat trip on the lake, walk along the lake or to the local people, swimming, visit the pygmies Bwindi Impenetrable - Lake Mutanda Mutanda Lake Resort (BB) Chameleon Hill Lodge (FB) Day 13: Lake Mutanda and Mgahinga National Park - Lake Bunyonyi Early breakfast, visit Mgahinga National Park and do one of the activities there, or stay near the lake and do one of the activities near the lake. One activity included for today. Activities in Mgahinga National Park: make a nature walk, go for a birding or primate walk, visit the golden monkeys or climb one of the volcanoes. Later drive to Lake Bunyonyi for overnight on Uganda’s beautiful lake. Mgahinga National Park is part of the Virunga Volcanoes and borders Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. Apart from Mountain Gorillas, the stars of Mgahinga are the golden monkeys, a subspecies of the Blue Monkey.

Game drive or an optional boat trip on the lake in the afternoon. In the evening we make a night game drive with high chances of seeing leopards.
Lake Mburo is one of the 2 national parks with zebras and the only national park with impalas in Uganda. There are no elephants and lions, so walking safaris are possible.

On our way back we can make a stopover at the Equator for photos. Transfer to the airport for your departure.
