After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Bujumbura to see some of her major landmarks including the mausoleum of Prince Rwagasore (Burundi’s national hero), the Bujumbura port, parliament Building and the University of Bujumbura. You will also the Burundi the Museum of Life/Zoo which is dedicated to Burundi’s wildlife and art, the Geological Museum and climb to the top of "Belvedere" hill for a unique view over Burundi and Lake Tanganyika. If time allows visit the Explorers Monument which commemorates the arrival of the explorers John Speke to what was considered River Nile as well as visit a local foods and used-clothes market to meet and mingle with local Burundians as they about their daily life. Lunch is had at a local Burundian restaurant or at Saga Beach before heading back to the hotel. Balance of the evening spent at leisure with dinner and overnight at the resort. On arrival at the local airstrip, you will be met by a Serena guide and transferred to the lodge.

Today, you will drive east to Gitega, the royal capital of Burundi and home of the Burundi National Museum. Tour the museum which houses ethnographic and cultural arte-factsfrom the traditional Royal Court of the Burundi Kingdom and other parts of the country. You will also visit the Gishoradrum makers’ factory and see how the karyenda (Burundian royal drums are made. Afterwards, you will also have an opportunity to enjoy a Burundi cultural music and dance performance and marvel at the mind boggling roar of the karyendas as they are beat by Burundi drummers; theyare like no other. You will return to Bujumbura late afternoon and back to “Club du Lac” for dinner and overnight.

You have another full day excursion in Burundi this time driving south to Rutana to view the furthest/southern-most source of the mighty River Nile, atop Mt. Gikizi and 6,671km to the Mediterranean sea. From the commemorative pyramid, enjoy magnificent views of the BatutsiPlatuea and Muhweza plains and Rutana municipality.You will also view the Livingstone Stone which commemorates the famous encounter between explorers Dr. Livingstone and Henry Morton Stanley at which Stanley uttered the famous words, “Dr. Livingstone, I suppose?”. You then drive back to Bujumbura late afternoon and back to “Club du Lac” for dinner and overnight.
