Epic Rwanda Experience Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
On arrival at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, you will be received by one of our tour guides who will greatly welcome you and transfer you to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you will do a city tour to introduce you to the history and culture of this country of a thousand hills and visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre where over 25000 Rwandese were buried. Dinner and overnight at your hotel Heaven Boutique
Day 2: Visiting Nyungwe National Park
Early morning enjoy your breakfast and checkout of the hotel and drive heading to the western province, on your way visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in Southern Province and later head for an enroute lunch. After lunch you head to Nyungwe National Park for dinner and overnight at Emeraude Hotel.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy walk
Today, after your early morning the breakfast, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe well known for having 13 species of primates, truck the chimps and also take part in canopy walk which will give you a magnificent experience of exploring the forest and importantly for the orchid project an incredible 160 orchid species. This represents 66% of the 242 Rwandan orchid species, during the canopy walk, you will also have great chance to spot a number of bird species, tree species, butterflies to mention but a few. After the canopy walk experience, you will be transferred to Karongi along the Kivu Lake; with a fantastic view of the country of u winding rolling thousand hills. Diner and overnight at Moriah Hill resort.
Day 4: Karongi- Volcanoes
After early morning breakfast, we shall transfer you for a boat ride and visit different islands in the Kivu Lake. During the boat ride, you will also be able to see a number of bird species such as the African darter, pied kingfisher, etc. and later head for lunch. After lunch we head to Volcanoes NP, the home of mountain Gorillas and the golden monkeys through the panoramic views of the Lake Kivu shores for dinner and overnight at Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking
After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters together with your packed lunch early enough to be briefed about the code of conduct while with the gorillas. This will be followed by entering the forest for trekking; the experience is magical and quite challenging, as you move from one trail to another throw the thickets in search for these primates. Quite a number of bird species and other primates plus wildlife can be spotted along the way. After trekking, you return to the lodge for lunch and spend the rest of the evening relaxing at the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge.
Day 6: Rwanda culture experience and transfer to Kigali
BToday, have an early morning breakfast and then proceed to Ibyiwacu cultural village that gives you a rare chance to meet local people, in their environment, with a taste of their culture and traditions. Later transfer to Kigali with an enroute lunch for visiting Nyamirambo Women Center upon arrival you will have a lesson of cooking or walking tour. Dinner and overnight stay at Frame Tree Village.
Day 7: Rwanda culture experience and airport departure
In the morning after breakfast, we shall take a drive and take visit at Nyamirambo for basket weaving experience and enjoy Rwanda traditional, delicious, and gratifying dishes that are prepared locally by the majority of the women groups and young youth. Later transfer to the airport for your departure.
