Ngorongoro Crater Day Trip Itinerary

Depart from Arusha with picnic lunches and head for a tour of the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend 600 meters into the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, contains the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and is the only place where you can spot the BIG 5 in one day (if you are lucky). Other animals found here include: Zebras, Warthogs, Wildebeests, Hyenas, Jackals, Cheetahs, Elands, Gazelles and Hippos. Additionally, there is an abundant array of birdlife including: Pelicans, Flamingos, Crowned Cranes, Fire Finches and Kori Bustard Geese. In the late afternoon, after enjoying the crater tour, you will ascend the crater walls and drive back to Arusha for dinner and an overnight at your hotel.
